BlockFills has promoted Demetrios Zamboglou to the position of CEO UAE, where he will be responsible for overseeing the company’s operations in the region.

Zamboglou, with an extensive background in financial services and trading, will guide BlockFills as it aims to enhance its presence in the UAE, particularly in the expanding digital asset market.

BlockFills has been active in offering trading services within the digital assets sector and is expanding its offerings to cater to the growing interest in cryptocurrencies. Zamboglou's expertise is expected to play a crucial role in this strategic growth.

Zamboglou's impressive career & background

Before joining BlockFills, Zamboglou was the CEO of Doto, a newly established provider of financial and investment solutions catering to both retail and corporate clients. Prior to Doto, he served as the Chief Operating Officer (COO) at Credit Financier Invest (CFI) for over two years.

Zamboglou also held an advisory role with Genesis Vision, a platform utilizing blockchain technology and smart contracts for decentralized trust management, for nearly three years. He similarly advised ThePower.io, a blockchain startup, beginning in June 2018.

His career includes a stint of just over a year at UK-based decentralized bank BABB, and five months as COO at ICON Capital Reserve. Zamboglou also held key leadership positions at Lykke Corp, a Swiss blockchain startup, where he served as European CEO and Global Chief Business Development Officer.

Zamboglou holds a PhD in Behavioral Finance from King’s College London. Despite his significant involvement in the cryptocurrency space, he is also an experienced veteran in FX and CFD trading, with more than a decade of experience spanning trading, risk management, and operations.

Starting his career in 2005, Zamboglou has held senior roles within the retail sector, including at Alpari (UK), ForexClub, and ForexTime. He also founded his own FX brokerage, ZebraFX, in 2012, which he later sold in 2015.
