The Dubai Financial Services Authority (DFSA) has forged a strategic partnership with Moro Hub, a subsidiary of Digital DEWA, the digital arm of Dubai Electricity and Water Authority PJSC. Announced during GITEX 2024 in Dubai, this collaboration aims to bolster the DFSA's capabilities in information technology and cybersecurity.
Waleed Al Awadhi, Chief Operating Officer of the DFSA, and Eng. Marwan Bin Haidar, Vice Chairman and Group CEO of Digital DEWA, signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to formalize the partnership. Together, they shared insights on enhancing the financial services sector’s defense against cyber threats.
The partnership establishes a collaborative framework, enabling both organizations to share knowledge, conduct joint training programs, and undertake IT and cybersecurity initiatives. Moro Hub’s cutting-edge digital solutions and expertise will support the DFSA in its efforts to advance the regulation of financial services within the Dubai International Financial Centre (DIFC).
Waleed Al Awadhi highlighted the importance of the partnership, stating,
"This collaboration marks a significant milestone in enhancing our IT and cybersecurity standards, ensuring DIFC remains a global leader in security and innovation. By leveraging the strengths of DFSA and Moro Hub, we aim to create a more secure and adaptive environment for innovation, protecting stakeholders from evolving cyber threats."
Eng. Marwan Bin Haidar echoed the sentiment, emphasizing the impact of the partnership on Dubai's broader digital transformation.
