Capital.com Promotes Rupert Osborne to Newly Created UK CEO Role

NEWS

Capital.com has appointed Rupert Osborne as the CEO of its UK FCA-authorized entity, Capital Com UK Limited. Osborne will oversee all UK operations, including setting strategic direction and overseeing material controls.

Previously, these responsibilities were managed by Group CEO Kypros Zoumidou. However, the decision to establish a dedicated UK CEO role aims to better align with local client needs and market dynamics.

Osborne, who joined Capital.com in June 2022, brings over 15 years of experience in trading and sales roles in the UK and US. He was promoted to Executive Director earlier this year.

Prior to joining Capital.com, Osborne worked on the dealing desk at IG before becoming Deputy Head of Dealing for FX and cryptocurrency products. He later served as CEO of IG US, where he successfully launched and grew the firm into a significant competitor in the US FX market.

After leaving IG, Osborne briefly led Malta-licensed crypto exchange Koala Capital and provided consultancy services to Pepperstone before joining Capital.com.

Osborne’s appointment as UK CEO follows the recent appointment of Tarik Chebib as CEO of Capital.com’s new Middle East operations. Based in Dubai, Chebib will oversee Capital Com MENA Securities Trading LLC, authorized and regulated by the Securities and Commodities Authority (SCA).

With these new regional CEO appointments, Capital.com aims to establish strong local leadership teams to drive growth and innovation in each market.

Osborne commented, “I am excited to step up to the role of UK CEO at Capital.com and lead a team of talented people. Together, we will build upon our many successes to deliver on the next stage of our strategy.”

Zoumidou stated, “I am delighted to announce Rupert’s appointment as CEO of Capital.com UK. As CEO of the UK operations, Rupert will steer the business forward while delivering the highest level of service to our clients in the UK.”
