.LMAX Group, a global financial technology company and leading independent operator of multiple institutional execution venues for FX and cryptocurrency trading, has appointed Luke Dorney as Head of Custody.
In his latest LinkedIn post, Dorney shared his enthusiasm about joining LMAX Group to lead its digital asset custody growth strategy. He stated,
“Last week I joined LMAX Group to lead the growth strategy for digital asset custody. LMAX was one of the first companies I dealt with when I moved professionally into the digital asset space 4+ years ago. It was clear to me, very early on, that they were (and continue to be) a leading and trusted organisation at the forefront of developing the regulated institutional market structure for digital asset trading and custody.”

At Blockdaemon, he served for over two years in various roles, including Head of Sales EMEA, General Manager & VP of Sales – EMEA, and General Manager & VP of Sales – US & EMEA.
Prior to his time at Blockdaemon, Dorney accumulated extensive experience at prestigious firms like Standard Chartered, Zodia Custody, and BNY Mellon, showcasing his expertise in business development, relationship management, and sales. With over a decade at J.P. Morgan, Dorney held numerous positions such as Project Manager of Clearing & Collateral Management, Vice President of Securities Clearing Services, and Executive Director of Corporate Investment Bank, among others.
In addition to Dorney’s appointment, LMAX Group has strengthened its leadership team over the past year by bringing on board key executives like Managing Director Chris Knight and Head of Sales EMEA Andre Severi.
