Online forex and CFD brokerage Trading 212 Group Limited has been granted a crypto asset service provider (CASP) license by the Cyprus Securities and Exchange Commission (CySEC).

The CASP license was awarded to Trading 212 through its local entity, Trading 212 Crypto Ltd, on May 20, 2024, according to the CySEC registry. This entity is distinct from Trading 212 Markets Ltd, which holds a Cyprus Investment Firm (CIF) license.

With this new license, Trading 212 is now authorized to facilitate exchanges between crypto assets and fiat currencies, as well as offer custodial services for cryptocurrencies.

Last month, FX Newsroom reported that Trading 212 UK Limited, the FCA-regulated entity of Trading 212 Group, experienced a modest decline in activity and profitability for the full year of 2023, with revenues totaling £95.3 million.
