Cristiano Ronaldo Teams Up with Binance for Fourth NFT Collection Launch

NEWS

Renowned Portuguese football icon Cristiano Ronaldo has revealed his latest non-fungible token (NFT) collection, collaborating once again with Binance, a leading cryptocurrency exchange platform.

Scheduled for release on May 29th exclusively on the Binance NFT Marketplace, Ronaldo’s fourth NFT collection commemorates significant moments from his illustrious football career.

In a statement featured on Binance’s blog, Ronaldo expressed, “My football journey has taken me across the globe, and I’ve had the privilege to represent some of the most esteemed clubs worldwide. Now, it’s your opportunity to share in that journey with me.”

Details regarding the quantity of NFTs included in the new collection remain undisclosed until its official launch, with pricing information yet to be revealed. However, the collection will feature a consistent price for each “Normal NFT,” while the “Super Rare NFT” will be priced differently.

Past NFT initiatives involving Cristiano Ronaldo have offered additional real-world benefits, such as exclusive experiences. For instance, previous holders were granted the chance to engage in a premium football session with Ronaldo himself, courtesy of Binance promotions.

In November 2023, Ronaldo faced legal action in a United States district court in Florida concerning his involvement in previous NFT sales with Binance. Allegations in the class-action lawsuit claimed that Ronaldo promoted unregistered securities in collaboration with Binance, despite being aware of the platform’s activities.

The legal dispute against Ronaldo stemmed from Binance’s previous legal entanglements, culminating in founder Changpeng “CZ” Zhao’s conviction in the U.S. for facilitating fraud. Zhao was sentenced to four months’ detention in April 2024 for his purported involvement in a money laundering scheme.
